•Agroforestry and harvest the cacao using machetes (optional)

Day 2:

Nature Trail – San Roque De Cumbaza

100m warterfall Toroyacu – natural phenomenon ‘Hatun-Rumi ‘Big Rock’ – in the conservation area ‘ Cordillera Escalera’

Day 1

•Journey (45 min drive) to San Roque de Cumbaza.

•4 hour hike to the waterfall.

•Lunch at ‘Yuractio’ small stone.

•‘Hatum Rumi’ big stone.

•Toroyacu Waterfall.

•Dinner around the campfire.

•Camping.

Day 2

•Free time for swimming by the waterfall.

•3 hour return trek to San Roque.

•Lunch in the village.

•Time to swim in the River Cumbaza and relax.

•Return to Tarapoto.

Artisinal Courses and Chocolate Route – Chazuta

Ceramics – Ecological paper – Chocolate making

Day 1:

•Welcome coffee at –‘Joyce V Bartra’ sculpture gallery.

•Learn how to make Ecological natural paper, one hour demonstration.

•Traditional and regional foods RBM.

•Make a basic ceramic bowl with Indigenous artisans, spend time with these amazing women learning about their ancient craft.

•Funeral urns of chazuta, during recent excavations 25 funeral urns were found along with 65 other findings.

•Overnight stay at ‘Joyce v Barter’ sculpture gallery.

Day 2:

•Cacao fields of ‘Rio Bosque Magico’ Heribertos family farm.

•Hour walk – Learn about agroforestry and harvest the cacao using machetes (optional).

•Lunch amazing food grown in the gardens of RBM

•Learn about the different stages in cacao production and participate in the labour process, how to ferment and dry the cacao beans ready to make chocolate.

•Dinner using organic products from their own farm.

•Mishky Cacao chocolate factory.

•Journey back to Tarapoto.

•Relax on the island beach.

•furthering on down the river to Jumanchi Springs.

•One hour walk – Swim in the springs relax in nature.

•Journey back to Chazuta.

•Amazing food grown in the gardens of RBM

•Overnight stay at  Centro Cultural Joyce V Barter.

Day 2:

•Breakfast.

Cultural Trail – San Roque De Cumbaza

Nature and Cultural Trail – Quechua Lamista village of Chunchiwi (1 half hour walk)- workshops in basic ceramics – Angelica’s Family Farm – Waterfall Huacamaillo (3 hour walk in total)

•Walk to the home of Petrona experience a traditional Quachua Lamista setting.

•Course in basic ceramics at the home of Petrona.

•Picnic lunch at Angelica’s family farm.

•Learn about a self-sustainable lifestyle, growing organic vegetables and feed baby chicks.

•Walk back to the village and enjoy swimming in the River Cumbaza.

•Overnight stay  and dinner at Chirapamanta Ecolodge.

•Breakfast at the lodge.

•Short motor taxi drive to San Antonio – your luggage can meet you in Tarapoto..

•Walk 1 half hours crossing small rivers to Waterfall Huacamaillo.

•Picnic lunch in nature.

•Once back in San Antonio we can sample some home made village wine.


2 Day Trips – Lamas – Cultural Trail

Waycu native quarters – courses in handicrafts – indigenous village of Chiricyacu – hotel ‘Casa La Sangapilla.’

Day 1: 

•Arrive into hotel ‘Casa La Sangapilla.’ Coffee and walk into Lamas 30 minutes or Taxi.

•’Castle of Lamas’ where you will see views over the town of Lamas.

•Native neighbourhood of Wayku – Craft Center ‘Waska Waska Warmi Wasi.

•Lunch in the town of Lamas.

• Short drive to Waterfall Chapawanki (20 min walk.)

•Dinner using organic food grown in the garden at Casa la Sangapilla (if you would like Pizza let us know in advance) – over night stay at the hotel.

Day 2:

•Buffet Breakfast at the hotel.

•Chanka Museum.

•Community of Chiricyacu.

•Courses in chumbe, ceramics or basket weaving, with the indigenous artisans.

Dinner using foods harvested localy.

 •Journey back to Tarapoto​.
